A study by Informa D & B testified that in the year of 2014 were created 35,568 new businesses in Portugal, especially in the sectors of Services, Retailing and Accommodation & Catering. Furthermore, in relation to closures, these fell 13.2% for the lowest value from 2007 to 13,952.

These numbers indicate that for every company that closed last year, 2.5 new entities were born, continuing the positive trend of 2013. Insolvencies, in turn, continue to show a marked decline, which in 2014 was -20.6%.
