The sports marketing specialist and director of IPAM – The Marketing School of Porto, Daniel Sá, defends in a study that the qualification of the Portuguese National Team to the Brazil World Cup 2014 could have an “economic impact of 438 million euros”, according to statements given to the Lusa Agency. This actually presents an opportunity for the internationalization of Portuguese companies, because “if we think with discernment, will hardly exist another sector in Portugal that could contribute to the country’s image in the world” as soccer, said Sá.
Therefore, the specialist recommended to take advantage of the visibility of Portugal through its team in the Brazil World Cup 2014. He also stresses that the euphoric state in which the consumers and workers will be immersed during this event will allow consumption and labor productivity.
