During the month of July, the Portuguese Minister of Economy, Antonio Pires de Lima, visited Peru and Colombia, where he contacted with various organizations and members of national governments, as well as with Portuguese companies with a presence in these markets.
About Peru, the Minister said it is taking “a great economic and social development and needs a lot of know how, the expertise of Portuguese companies in terms of infrastructure (…) We, the Portuguese, developed in the last decades a tradition of building major infrastructures in the road area and in the port area, that now also is going to have a growing impetus with the strategic plan of transportation and infrastructure”, he indicated.
Regarding Colombia, the representative of the Portuguese government informed that the aim of his visit was “demonstrate the case of success and transformation of Portugal and the opportunities to invest in the country as a gateway for investment in Europe”, as well as to knowing the development of Portuguese projects in the South American nation.
