Eurostat reported that Portuguese exports grew 5% over 2013, the sixth highest growth among the countries of the European Union. Similarly, Portugal highlighted in this area between the peripheral countries, beating Ireland, Spain, Greece and Italy. The exports were recorded both within and outside the EU.

One of the products that were exported from Portugal over the past year are the meat products, which increased 20.5% to a total of 135 million euros. Angola is the country that has acquired more than 70% of the total, followed by Spain, according to study by consultancy Informa D & B.
