CNN, on its CNN Expansión website, recommends a list of books that every good CEO should have in their personal library this year. This is a top 5, with the best reading for managers:
- Scaling Up Excellence: Getting to More Without Settling for Less, by Robert I. Sutton y Huggy Rao. The text is aimed at executives interested in theories and strategies to grow their businesses.
- Big Bang Disruption: The Innovator’s Disaster, by Paul F. Nunes y Larry Downes. The authors show cases where technology has made to fail the strongest companies, and have solutions to recover from the “disruptive innovation”.
- Humble Inquiry: The Gentle Art of Asking Instead of Telling, by Edgar H. Schein. A useful book for those who consider communication as a tool for establishing lasting relationships in business.
- Average is Over: Powering America Beyond the Age of the Great Stagnation, by Tyler Cowen. The Professor of George Mason University argues in this text that today there are two types of human beings: the super-winners, who complement their skills with technology; and the losers, who were replaced by it.
- Youtility: Why Smart Marketing is About Help not Hype, by Jay Baer. “Success flows in organizations that inform, not on those who are promoting”, says the author in this book, based on the power of information in business marketing.
