In recent months, the Portuguese government representatives have visited various countries, with the objective to promote the potential of the Portuguese nation for doing business, among others. Recently, the President of the Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, traveled to the United States and Canada, where he held meetings with local and Portuguese entrepreneurs.
At these meetings, Cavaco Silva presented the current situation of Portugal and its “competitive location for investment”. Also, reported that economic growth in 2014 “will be greater than that which was anticipated by the Portuguese government and was anticipated by international organizations”.
Portuguese Vice Deputy Minister, Paulo Portas, has also moved to support this mission, as he did to the United Arab Emirates a few weeks ago, to promote Portuguese exports and attract new investment. Similarly, the Economy minister, António Pires de Lima, has attended various summits, conferences and fairs, such as the international footwear in Milan, in which he promoted the national industry as one of which most successful has had in exports in recent years.
