The Rural Development Program 2014-2020, included in the Portugal 2020 Program for economic, social and territorial development of the country, opened the applications for two actions: Investment in Agricultural Exploitation and Investment in the Processing and Commercialization of Agricultural Products. Both calls will be available until June 30th, 2015.
In the first action, is intended “strengthen the viability of agricultural exploitation, promoting innovation, education, organizational training and resize of enterprises, as well as “preserve and improve the environment”, as can read it in the site Portugal2020.pt. The types of intervention to support are investments in agricultural exploitation, which value exceeds 25 000 euros.
In the second, the objectives are: “promote the expansion and renovation of the agroindustrial production structure, enhancing value creation, innovation, quality and food safety, production of transactional goods and the internationalization of the sector” and also keep caring for the environment. In this case, the type of support depends on the projects they fall within one of the sectors identified in Annex I of Portaria nº 230/2014 of November 11th in Portugal; that the total investment exceeds 200,000 euros and less than 4 million euros; or that projects contribute to the development of production and the added value of agricultural production.
